This spectacular hotel boasts the longest pool in Sri Lanka! We were lucky enough to be invited to join the Samarasinghe and Kodituwaku Families for the day to celebrate Chrissy's Birthday. We started the day with a tour of the hotel, and then went on to join the family in a beautiful suite. It was a Poiya Day, and there is no alcohol to be served in public places. So we all hung out in the very spacious suite, had some cocktails and then went for a swim. To our surprise, Kaden impressed us by swimming 2 laps of the pool (200 meters non stop). All those swimming lessons are finally paying off...lol!
After hours in and by the pool, we all met in the dinning room for tasty and plentiful lunch buffet. We sat for hours by the lagoon and had long chats with the Samarasinghe's and Kodituwaku's. They are such wonderful and hospitable people, they truly are friends that have become family. Later on, the hotel staff set up a beautiful birthday tea celebration for Chrissy and the children, The adults quite enjoyed all the treats as well. I over indulged in the ribbon cake and ice coffee, but it was worth it. The children had a great time running all around the garden while we enjoyed great company and beautiful surroundings.
